Why a resin bound surface?
Maintenance
Resin bound surfaces are very easy to maintain in comparison to your traditional Block Paving products. Paving can fall to weed growth between joints and edges and can fade after exposure to UV rays. From experience they need regular pressure washing and sealing to keep their appearance.
Choosing the correct Resin Bound surface that is fully UV stable results in a surface that will not fade or discolour under the UV rays of the sunlight and when done with the right preparation, weeds will not be able to grow through the surface. Resin Bound surfaces will generally require a light pressure wash a couple of times a year to keep the dirt away, the rain does most of that work for you anyway!
Permeability and Weather Resistance
Resin Bound surfacing is SUDS compliant due to the material make up as shown on the right hand side (As an example). This means water will not lay on the surface and allows liquid to pass through. This dramatically reduces any issues with freeze/thaw as the material does not retain water. This can be constructed on a porous concrete, open grade porous tar or porous gravel grid.
Aesthetic/Appearance
Probably the biggest reason on why you are choosing Resin Bound surfacing, its looks. Resin driveways and surfacing have increased in popularity over the years but is still relatively unknown to the general public due to the number of Block Paving being laid!
Resin Bound surfacing in contrast to your traditional stone finish provides a totally unique finish. Its modern and seamless finish has many different colours to compliment most house style.
The finish is made by mixing resin with small clean natural quarried stones. If there is a particular colour that we can match we are more than happy to mix stones to your requirements, With the colours chosen you can choose to add simple edging strips, edging stones, edging paving and timber edging to add a border.
